Capability Development Grant (CDG) Grant

The grant defrays up to 70 percent* of qualifying project costs such as consultancy, training, certification and equipment costs. You can take on large scale upgrading projects in areas like increasing productivity, process improvement, product development and market access.

To encourage more SMEs to build business capabilities, the application process for grant support of S$30,000 or less has been simplified. You can look forward to simpler application forms and reduced documentation requirements for such projects.

* SPRING's enhanced funding support of up to 70% would be effective for three years until 31 March 2018.

Supportable Activities

Embark on a business process productivity improvement project to:

  • Review existing business processes, identify areas of improvement and develop a productivity measurement system to track company productivity levels
  • Adopt and implement solutions that automate existing operations and improve internal processes
  • Intensify land use and improve land productivity under the Land Productivity Grant

Non-supportable Activities

The following activities/cost items are not supportable under the CDG as they are considered to be operational in nature and not exclusive to capability development projects:

  • Common warehousing & storage equipment (e.g. racks, shelves, RFID tags)
  • Generic equipment / software that are not used exclusively for the project
  • Set-up costs that are essential for starting up the business
